    Patons Alpaca Blend Featured

To make the Moroccan Weekend Wrap, I used Patons Alpaca Blend! This is a lovely, bulky weight yarn that works up fast but has an upscale look and feel. It's super warm and gives this wrap its gorgeous depth of color.

    Substitutions for Non-Woolies

That said, I know that animal fibers aren't for everyone! Switching yarns can lead to a different look, but that can be fun too. There are lots of bulky weight yarns to choose from - pick your favorite! You can find some great ideas on Yarnsub.com!

    A Classic Moogly Stitch

The Moroccan Weekend Wrap brings back a classic stitch here on Moogly - the Moroccan Tile Stitch! Used as a bit of accent here, it adds a great graphic touch to this simple crochet wrap pattern.

Edging: Join and sc evenly around the entire rectangle, matching the color to the yarn crocheted into, and working 3 sc in each corner.

Assembly: Fold in half where the last rows of each piece are sewn, and sew from the outer edge inward so that 10" are left unsewn for the head hole. Weave in ends.

    WeCrochet with Wool

The Trenta Hood features yarn from WeCrochet, a new "sister-site" to KnitPicks! Specifically, I used WeCrochet Wool of the Andes Superwash Bulky.

It's spun from Peruvian wool and promises structure, loft, and drape. It is an all-purpose yarn with fab stitch definition and "heirloom durability." It was a joy to crochet with!

Trenta Hood - make the free crochet pattern on Moogly!

    Wearable Options

So this yarn needed to become something warm and wearable! And the Trenta Hood was the perfect project. It's one size fits all teens and adults, and it's just so cozy.

Trenta Hood - so cozy and warm!

While the poms are optional, the added weight make it easy to wear this hood up or down as needed (and as the weather changes every 5 minutes...) - and they are simply fun!

Trenta Hood - wear it up or down, according to the weather!

    Trenta Hood Basics

The stitch pattern for the Trenta Hood is made up of stitches you are likely very familiar with - only the basics! And there are helpful tutorials linked below for both the seaming and the edging. Pick your favorite 3 colors of Wool of the Andes Superwash Bulky and get started on your own!

Two Great Yarns are Better Together!

To create the Hygge Diamond Pillow, I used Red Heart Hygge Charm for the diamond side. It's sparkly, easy to crochet with, and really makes those diamonds pop!

Hygge Diamond Pillow - diamond side - free crochet pattern on Moogly!

On the other side, I used Red Heart Hygge - so fuzzy and soft! This side contrasts beautifully with the "hard" diamonds, and gives you two looks in one!

Hygge Diamond Pillow - furry side - free pattern on Moogly!

Top it All Off with Poms!

Pom poms on the corners of pillows are all the rage right now - and it's a great way to use up the leftover bits of yarn when you've finished crocheting the pillow! The Red Heart Hygge Charm works best for the poms, but they are of course completely optional. You can even use Faux Fur poms or tassels if you like!

Create Your Own Hygge Diamond Pillow!

The Hygge Diamond Pillow is easy to customize - from colors to corners! I went with white for a versatile look - this works for your winter wonderland, boho, and texture on texture looks. But feel free to mix it up and make it your own!

One last thing to note - I used a 20" pillow form to stuff a 16" cover. This creates a super puffy and firm pillow! For a softer pillow, go with an 18" pillow form. You do always want to go a little over for fluffiness!
