    • SPECIAL STITCH: V st - (dc, ch 1, dc) in the same st

Row 1: With Color A, FDC 42(45, 51, 54); join with a sl st to work in the round.

Rows 2 - 4: Ch 2 (does not count as a st), dc in each st around; join to first dc with a sl st.

Row 5: Ch 4, dc in 1st st (V st made), *skip 2 sts, V st in next st; repeat from * around until 2 sts remain, skip last 2 sts, join with a sl st. Remove the hook from the active loop and place a stitch marker (pm) in the loop to secure it, so it won’t pull out as you work the other color.

Row 6: With Color B, join with sl st in ch sp of 1st V st of previous round, ch 4, dc in the same ch sp (V st made). V st in each ch sp around. Pull active loop and working yarn of Color A to front of fabric, then join with sl st to 3rd ch of ch-4. Remove hook from loop and pm in loop.

Row 7: Replace hook in active loop of Color A, ch 4, dc between first and last V of the row before the previous round (NOT in the ch sp, but between the Vs). V st between the V sts of round before the previous round to end, enclosing previous round. Leaving working yarn and active loop of Color B behind fabric, join with sl st to 3rd ch of ch-4. Remove hook from loop, pm in loop.

Row 8: Insert hook in the ch sp of the first V st of the previous round. Replace hook in active loop of Color B and pull it through the V to the front, leaving working yarn behind. Ch 4, dc in the ch sp of that first V. V st in each ch sp around. Pull active loop and working yarn of Color A to front of fabric, then join with sl st to 3rd ch of ch-4. Remove hook from loop, pm in loop.

    Rows 9 - 10: Repeat Rows 7 - 8, break Color B and finish off.

    Row 11: Repeat Row 7.

Row 12: Ch 2, dc in each ch sp and st around; join with a sl st in 1st dc. (42,(45, 51, 54) sts)

Row 13: Ch 2, fpdc in 1st st, bpdc in next st, *fpdc in next st, bpdc in next st; repeat from * around, join with a sl st in first fpdc, break yarn and finish off.

    Repeat for 2nd boot cuff.

And that's all there is to it! I hope you enjoy this pattern, as well as the rest of the Moroccan Midnight Collection!

I love this pattern! Question: how many do you chain to start out?

Thank you! If you prefer to ch rather than use foundation stitches, you can ch 2 more than the # for your chosen size, and then skip the 2 chs closest to the hook and dc in each remaining ch. The skipped ch-2 here would not count as a st.

I added extra colored rows and they turned into legwarmers. I made the Moroccan Midnight hat, wristwarmers, and infinity scarf as well. It'll be a lovely gift for my mother for Christmas. Thank you for all of the free patterns. I've been telling everyone about your site.

Not for the boot cuff as such, but for the trickiest bit: https://www.mooglyblog.com/moroccan-tile-stitch-round/ 🙂
