Tamara, I finished part 1, and as I am making a bigger shawl, I decided to go harder before easier. I have started a textured section after row23, a picot fan with post work on wrong side rows and joining chains between the fans , in multiples of 10 stitches. I think I have understood the math of rows 23 and 24. My front post - chain row gives a straight edge to build the granny stitch rows from (your row 24) my row 32, I am using yarn centre of 2nd cake to blend extra rows before the darker yarn of the 1st cake.
