Hygge Girls Cocoon Cardigan - free on Moogly!

The Hygge Girls Cocoon Cardigan is the child's version of the popular super simple free crochet sweater pattern on Moogly! This reader request is made with Red Heart Hygge yarn, and ranges from a Child's size 6 to a Youth 14!

    Mommy and Me Crochet

The Hygge Girls Cocoon Cardigan is a popular reader request crochet pattern! I've downsized the Hygge Cocoon Cardigan (for women) to fit girls sizes 6 all the way up to 14! I've made a few changes to make it more kid-friendly, but it features the same great style and super easy construction!

Hygge Cocoon Cardigan - free crochet pattern on Moogly

    Featuring Red Heart Hygge

The stitch pattern used in the Hygge Girls Cocoon Cardigan creates wonderful drape in this sweater, and its simplicity is perfect for this highly textured yarn. Red Heart Hygge is so fuzzy, so soft, and so cozy in this pattern!

Hygge Girls Cocoon Cardigan - flat

    For Children and Youth

Because of the oversize fit of the Hygge Girls Cocoon Cardigan, you can get some real life out of these garments - they'll keep fitting for a while as the kids grow! I've left the sleeves a bit looser (relatively speaking) than in the adult version, for ultimate comfort and to extend the sweater's wearability.

Hygge Girls Cocoon Cardigan - back view

I started this design at a Child's size 6, and ended at a Youth 14 - after that you can jump to the Misses' or Plus sizes of the Hygge Cocoon Cardigan! I didn't design it for the smaller children's sizes - 2 and 4 - as children that small are unlikely to keep an oversized cardi like this on. But maybe that's just my kids - if you want to see this pattern in even smaller sizes, let me know in the comments!
