Block #24:
Stripey Spikes Blanket Square
by Fiber Flux
Above are the originals, made with 3 colors of With Love. Below is my version, made in my 4 colors of With Love!
The Details
My Notes: This block is a relaxing and easy pattern, with one special stitch! A fun one to wrap up the year, and then get to joining and assembling your blanket! I did make one small change, working a (hdc, ch 2, hdc) in the corners for the last round, as it's easier for my preferred joining method.
This year I'll be using the Tight Braid Join and Windows Border to finish off my afghan. And I plan on demo-ing the Windows Border Live on the Moogly YouTube channel on December 30th.

Sizing: To finish this square, you just repeat the last round until you have the size you need! Everyone's gauge and tension level are different so be sure to measure as you go. Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.
What I Did: I used a Furls US-J, 6.0 mm hook and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows:
Rows 1 - 4: Aubergine
Rows 5 - 8: Lilac
Rows 9 - 12: White
Rows 13 - 16: Aubergine
Rows 17-20: Lilac
Rnd 1: White
Rnd 2: Lilac
Rnd 3: Aubergine
Rnd 4: Light Gray
This square benefited from a very light blocking. To block this square, I used the wet blocking method and a Chetnanigans BlocksAll Ultra blocking board and Perfecting Strips.
