Clover Quick Locking Stitch Marker Set Review and Giveaway

Published: Nov 2, 2020 by Tamara Kelly · 15 Comments

If you've watched any Moogly tutorials or looked closely at some of my step-by-step photos, you'll see that I'm a big fan of the Clover Quick Locking Stitch Marker Set! Read on to see why, and enter to win one set on Moogly!

    Why Use Stitch Markers?

Stitch markers are one of those tools I waited far too long to add to my notions bag. Starting out, I used scraps of yarn, paperclips, lobster clasps, whatever was handy. But only when I felt like I *had* too - usually I'd think I could manage without.

And then I'd make mistakes, have to take out my work, end up with wobbly edges and waste time finding stitches. Eventually, I got ahold of a "real" set of stitch markers, and I started using them. And using them. And using them some more!

For every project I make now, I use stitch markers. While I'm a better crocheter than I was - I also know how easy it is to make mistakes, and how much time using stitch markers saves me in the end!

In fact, I did a Livestream a while back where I talked about some of my favorite uses for stitch markers!

What Sets Clover Quick Locking Stitch Markers Apart?

As you can see, stitch markers are one of my favorite tools, and Clover's are my absolute favorites. I use them every single day! They work for both crochet and knitting, so they're great for everyone. There are 4 main things that set these stitch markers apart from the rest.

    Durability

Clover Quick Locking Stitch Markers are made of plastic - as are most of the "safety pin" style stitch markers. And all such stitch markers should be stored open, not closed, for maximum lifespan.

But while I've had plenty of other plastic stitch markers break on me, I've never snapped a Clover stitch marker. In fact, I've abused the heck out of them - stretching them wide open to help me line up seams, mark Jumbo yarns, and even running a few through the vacuum. The only ones I've lost are ones I've literally lost! These things keep on ticking!

    Handy Set of Sizes

Each Clover Quick Locking Stitch Marker Set includes a total of 36 markers - 10 small, 20 medium, and 6 large. And there's room in the case for a few more you might already own. (I have multiple sets, so I really fill mine up!)

These sizes are perfect for every size yarn from crochet thread to Super Bulky! Some Jumbo's can be a bit big, but well, that's Jumbo yarn for you - and you can usually hook a marker into the strand at least!

    Great Carrying Case

I'll be honest - there are probably stitch markers in every room of my house. But the majority of my collection stays in the handy case they came in. And that case easily fits right in my notions bag! Every once in a while, when it starts getting empty, I walk around the house and fill it back up again... This is totally a me problem, the case is perfect!

    Special Shaping

While it's not the most important part... they are super cute too. Take a closer look - each stitch marker is a little sheep! ♥ What a wonderful touch!

But it's not just for looks - the undulating shape of the pin portion helps prevent your stitches from stretching out. Clever *and* cute!

These are the very very best!

When I started crocheting I bought a big value pack of stitch markers from Amazon... You know the ones... They are shaped like little safety pins, only plastic and more colorful. They snag my yarn nearly every time, and they're very stiff. Difficult to use with nerve problems and weakness in my right arm, so I'd basically have to drop everything just to put in a marker. It got to the point that I'd just skip that step and hope I didn't lose count. They were not making anything easier to be honest.

Well, I had a coupon for either Michael's or Joann's, and decided to try a small pack of the Clover Locking Stitch Markers. These babies are my favorite in the world. They're so flexible and easy to insert one-handed. Even into tight tight amigurumi stitches. They're smooth and don't snag. Ever. They truly are the best of any I've tried. I was actually working up to buy a pack with more sizes as soon as I am able, but it would be great to win these!

Thanks for the review of one of my favorite products, and for hosting a giveaway! ❤️

I love stitch markers. For a beginner like myself, it has helped me to keep my edges straight and count my rows easily. It would be nice to add this to my collection. I own tons of clover hooks. I love them.

Thanks for the very informative and personalized review about these Clover Stitch Markers, Tamara. As always, your knowledge and experience is very much appreciated! I agree that these stitch markers are very useful and easy to use... I have joint/muscle health condition and find them easier to use than some other tools/methods... thankfully none lost through vacuum or other tragic means though 🙂 Thanks for the opportunity to enter your generous giveaway context. Keep up the excellent work you all do 🙂

Itty Bitty Sheepies - too cute! One can not have too many stitch markers and these look even more 'user friendly' than the few 🙁 that I have now.

BOY OH BOY!! Would I love to win these babies! I HAVE BEEN CROCHETING FOR 65+ YEARS AND always used safety pins - you know what a process that is. I never knew these beauties existed until subscribing your wonderful site. Wish me luck, please, because I'll need it to win something as much a treasure as these will be to my growing collection of new and improved accessories. Thanks you so much.

I have some smaller ones and love, love, love them!! I'd love to have bigger ones and a case. Of course, you can never have too many! I'm not forced to finish one project to get them out to use for another project then, 😉
