One of the things each of my kids did in preschool was a field trip to the local botanical gardens. So it seems appropriate at back to school time to have #18 in the Moogly CAL for 2017, designed by Sonya Blackstone of Blackstone Designs - the Botanical Garden Square!

Above is the original made in a variety of styles! Below, you can see my version, made with my 6 colors!
My Notes:
This pattern is free - CLICK HERE! To print or download the pattern for free, open a second tab on your browser to PrintFriendly.com and enter the URL there. If you need help with Print Friendly, please see the tutorial here.
There is a Special Stitches section - don't miss it! There are some unique stitches used here, and I've included video links below when I have them available. This pattern is well written, concise, and the square is a joy to make - and a fun one to play with color on!

My square was turning out just a tiny bit big, so I skipped round 15 to get 12" exactly! But everyone's gauge and tension level are different so be sure to measure as you go. Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.
I used a Furls Odyssey hook and Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice, and my color scheme was as follows – Rnd 1: Rose Shocking; Rnd 2: Lemon; Rnd 3: Radiant Lime; Rnd 4: Aquamarine; Rnd 5: Aqua; Rnd 6-7: Rose Shocking; Rnd 8-9: Lemon; Rnd 10-11: Radiant Lime; Rnd 12-13: Aquamarine; Rnd 14-15(skipped): Aqua; Rnd 16: Silver Grey.
To block this post, I used the wet blocking method and a Chetnanigans BlocksAll Ultra blocking board. You will need to block this square to get a true square shape!
