When it comes to the Moogly Afghan Crochet Along, #13 is never bad luck! In fact, we're very lucky to have a new square designed by The Lavender Chair!

And please note that squares need blocking! It makes all the difference when assembling your finished blanket. To block your squares, I recommend using a Chetnanigans blocking board like those shown in the clickable image below! Just put it on the board (the premeasured holes make it super easy!) and spritz it with water. When it's dry... it's blocked! Thank you to Chetnanigans for sponsoring this CAL post!

My square measured 11" after Round 12, so I bumped Round 13 up to hdc sts - and that got me right to 12"! But everyone's gauge and tension level are different so be sure to measure as you go. Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.
I used a Furls Odyssey hook and Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice, and my color scheme was as follows – Rnd 1-3: Rose Shocking; Rnd 4-6: Lemon; Rnd 7 and 8: Radiant Lime; Rnd 9 and 10: Aquamarine; Rnd 11 and 12: Aqua; Rnd 13: Silver Grey.
To block this post, I used the wet blocking method and a Chetnanigans BlocksAll Ultra blocking board.

I thought all the crochet a long squares are worked with an I hook? This pattern calls for J which did you use?
Tamara Kelly
This year's CAL is using a J hook - previous years were using an I hook. If you are mixing and matching across the years, I would recommend sticking with whatever hook you are using for the other squares. 🙂
