    The Details

My Notes: This block has lots of twists and turns - be sure to read all the tips before you begin crocheting!

Helpful Links and Tutorials: Crochet Abbreviations; Join with sc; Join with dc; FLO/BLO; sc2tog (dec); Invisible Finishing, Working into the Edge.

Sizing: My square was coming out a bit big. So I skipped Rnd 5 of the border, and that got me right to 12".

But remember, everyone's gauge and tension level are different so be sure to measure as you go. Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.

What I Did: I used a Furls US-J, 6.0 mm hook and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows:

    Rnds 1 - 2: White
    Rnd 3:
    Lilac
    Rnd 4:
    Aubergine
    Rnd 5:
    Light Gray
    Rnd 6:
    Lilac
    Rnd 7:
    Aubergine
    Rows 8 - 18:
    Light Gray
    Rows 19 - 21:
    Lilac
    Rows 22 - 23:
    White
    Edging Rnds 1 - 2:
    Aubergine
    Edging Rnd 3:
    White
    Edging Rnd 4:
    Lilac
    Edging Rnd 5: skipped
    Edging Rnd 6:
    Light Gray

This square benefited from a very mild blocking. To block this square, I used the wet blocking method and a Chetnanigans BlocksAll Ultra blocking board and Perfecting Strips.

Wow - I LOVE this one! Too bad I'm not making a blanket. I wonder how this would look with alternating plain squares. Might have to try it!

You could just make a couple for a pillow or simple bag too! 🙂
