Block #5:

by Every Trick On The Hook
Above is the original, made in 8 colors of With Love. Below is my version, made in my 4 colors of With Love!
The Details
My Notes: This pattern features lots of different stitches, and is written so that you can change colors every row, or whenever you choose! There are lots of options, so read all the notes and instructions carefully.
I recommend using stitch markers in the corners as you crochet - it will help you keep track a little easier. Take your time, read through the instructions before you start, and go stitch by stitch.
Helpful Links and Tutorials: Crochet Abbreviations; Magic Circle; Post Stitches; Popcorn Stitch; Standing Single Crochet; Standing Hdc; Standing Dc; Invisible Finishing.
Sizing: My square was coming out a tiny bit big, so I made the last rnd with sc stitches instead of hdc.
But remember, everyone's gauge and tension level are different so be sure to measure as you go. Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.
What I Did: I used a Furls US-J, 6.0 mm hook and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows:
Rnd 1: Lilac
Rnd 2: Aubergine
Rnd 3: White
Rnd 4: Light Grey
Rnd 5: Lilac
Rnd 6: Aubergine
Rnd 7: White
Rnd 8: Light Grey
Rnd 9: Lilac
Rnd 10: Aubergine
Rnd 11: White
Rnd 12: Light Grey
Rnd 13: Lilac
Rnd 14: Aubergine
Rnd 15: White
Rnd 16: Light Grey
This square benefited from a moderate blocking. To block this square, I used the wet blocking method and a Chetnanigans BlocksAll Ultra blocking board and Perfecting Strips.

Thanks so much for the wonderful info on this page. I’m new to the group & learning how it works. I was having trouble figuring out how to find the patterns to get started but with your explanations on this post I think I’m good. I am checking the email option below so that way I won’t miss an announcement. I’m a little behind so have a little catching up to do. I’ve been studying really hard for a coding certification exam coming up the end of this month so haven’t had the time I would like to crochet. I’m so looking forward to doing this cal with you all & can’t wait to get started. Just gotta get thru this test first. 🙏🏻 Would it be possible for you to email me the links for the pattern #1, #2, #3, & #4.? Figured I’ll be getting the rest each month via email. Thanks again for having such a great site & absolutely beautiful patterns. Figure I’ll be able to finally finish a blanket because of the monthly type work along schedule. Thanks again. Georgia

Hi I'm loving your patterns and excited to get started. I'm considered a beginner! I can't seem to be able to find pattern number 2 anywhere. Is it too late to print it? I am up to date to number 6.
Thank you so much for everything.
Cheers,
Karen
