My Notes: This square uses only the very simplest of crochet stitches, but they twist around to create a colorful swirl! Kelly was inspired by Phi Day, the Golden Ratio, and modular crochet techniques - simple, elegant, and ready for your special touches! Color choices will make all the difference with this one, and it's a great opportunity for all of us to perfect our "working to the edge" skills!
One tip that Kelly shares that I want to emphasize: add a stitch marker to the front of your work after finishing Section 1 - it makes the rest of the square a lot easier! If you need a stitch count for the later sections, just check the chart!
Helpful Links and Tutorials: Crochet Abbreviations, Join with Sc, Working Into the Edge, and seamless join.
Sizing: My square was coming out a bit big, so I stopped Section 7 after 23 rows, and then stopped Final Section at 5 rows. This left me just enough room for the sc border.
Everyone's gauge is different, so be sure to measure as you go! Learn how to adjust for size HERE to ensure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down, not diagonally/corner to corner.
Yarn Options: This year, our designers have chosen from a variety of yarns, including Brava Worsted, Swish Worsted, Jimmy Beans Wool Beanstalk, Berroco Vintage, and MadTosh Vintage. For this square, Kelly used Swish Worsted and I used Brava Worsted!
What I Did:
I used a US-J, 6.0 mm crochet hook, and Brava Worsted yarn, and my color scheme was as follows (see pics for more info on placement):
Section 1: Fig
Section 2: Denim
Section 3: Espresso
Section 4: Seashell
Section 5: Custard
Section 6: Fig
Section 7: Denim
Final Section: Espresso
Finishing Border: Cream
This square needed a bit of blocking, so I used steam and then finished with wet blocking.

PLEASE NOTE: The designers all hold individual copyrights for their patterns. They may choose to make videos of their patterns, and you can certainly request them from the designers. In addition, there are videos linked in the notes for specific stitches and techniques that may help you with the pattern. They may offer paid PDFs of the pattern, but have agreed to leave it up for free on their website or on Ravelry for as long as possible.
