This pattern is Intermediate Level - it features overlay crochet, post stitches, and bobbles. And that's how it gets its beauty! There are lots of photos and options in the pattern to help, and don't hesitate to ask in the Facebook group if you need help too! I used Method 1, tapestry style. Be sure to read all the notes at the beginning of the pattern!
Techniques and tutorials you might find helpful: Crochet Abbreviations; Magic Circle; Chainless Standing Double Crochet; Crossed Stitches; Post Stitches; Tall Stitches; Back Loop Only; Seamless finishing.
I ended up eliminating the very last round, getting 12" after Rnd 18. But everyone's gauge and tension level are different so be sure to measure as you go, and check your gauge. Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.
I used a Furls US-J, 6.0 mm hook and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows – Color 2: Tigerlily; Color 1, Rnd 1-5: Holly Berry; Color 1, Rnd 6-9: Lettuce; Color 1, Rnd 10-13: Hot Pink; Rnd 14: Tigerlily; Rnd 15-17: Iced Aqua; Rnd 18: Fruit Punch.
This square benefited from a very light blocking. To block this square, I used the wet blocking method and a Chetnanigans BlocksAll Ultra blocking board.
