    Super Quick Squish!

The Octopus Squish is filled with a microbead pillow ball, making it addictively huggable! And by using Bernat Blanket, it works up pretty darn quickly too - and is just as soft as can be! If you prefer, of course, you can fill it with Fiberfill.

Octopus Squish - free crochet pattern on Moogly!

    Cute and Cuddly

I had so much fun crocheting this octopus pillow! I love his cute little face and wiggly tentacles! You can make this little guy your own with yarn and button choices, and how you sew on the face.

Octopus Squish - free crochet pattern on Moogly!

A Note on Toys for Kids

While the Octopus Squish itself is too big for babies to choke on... the buttons are not. This pattern has not been tested for safety for children under 3 years of age. If you are crocheting it for a baby or toddler, please embroider on the face and tentacle suckers rather than using buttons. If using it as a photo prop, be sure not to leave the toy with a baby unattended.

However, I've updated it this round, making it even easier to crochet, and adding more texture, with fewer color changes. This makes this pattern a great one to relax with, and gives it a great floral look!

Caron Simply Soft Means So Many Looks

I used Caron Simply Soft to design the Big Bloom Blanket because it's soft, affordable, and comes in such a huge variety of colors! While I went with a denim-inspired look, you can create all sorts of looks with your own color choices!

    And so many Sizes!

While I designed the Big Bloom Blanket to use just 2 skeins each of 3 colors of Caron Simply Soft, this pattern can keep growing as long as you keep crocheting! It's also a great scrapghan pattern - be sure to read the Notes below for more sizing info!

Want to make a scrapghan? Change colors as needed when you change rounds, and work the new color as back post stitches for random color and texture!
