I'm confused. How can we FHDC without a chain row?
Tamara Kelly
The FHDC is a foundation stitch - it makes the chain and stitch at the same time, and is far stretchier than a standard chain. There is a video tutorial linked above the pattern! 🙂

In the crochet version, are rows 2&3 the same?
Tamara Kelly
No, you are working into 2 different loops here! 🙂 One is on the front of the stitch, the other is on the back.
Shasma Braziel
Ok. Thanks.

I'm assuming rows 2&3 are the same even though they're worded differently?
Tamara Kelly
No, you are working into 2 different loops here! 🙂 One is on the front of the stitch, the other is on the back.

Cheryl
Hdc in third loop??? The video shows her crocheting in the round which is the right side of the work facing her where as we are turning and the wrong side is facing! I cannot find a Horizontal loop to insert my hook. Help!
Tamara Kelly
Hi Cheryl! The first part of the video shows working into the horizontal loop that's in the back of the stitch - it's formed by the yarn over in the hdc stitch. Later in the video, at the part indicated in the special stitches, I demo how to work into that same loop from the front. In the round or in rows, you can crochet into that loop from either side.

What Letter is a 12mm hook?
Tamara Kelly
There isn't a letter for this size. 🙂
Marsha
hope I'm not too late to work on this pattern. Read all of the clues and believe I understand it all. have a question on the size. my measurements are Bust 46, waist 42 and hips 53. I'm 5'2". I'm a pear shape. I looked at the chart you linked for sizes with measurements and I'm between XL and 2X. But I think you said that is with minimal ease. since I live in Michigan and will wear this over a sweater or sweatshirt; I wonder maybe I should opt for even going looser and go 3X. What do you think?
Tamara Kelly
Hi Marsha! I think I'd go up a size too - I often do for winter items myself! ♥
