Featuring Bernat Blanket - and You!
The Halloween Tentacle Candy Bowl is made with Bernat Blanket! It's a super bulky yarn so this pattern is very fast to crochet - and you can pick from over 80 colors for hundreds of possible color combos! Once you've got your colors, you can dress it up however you like. Add button tentacle suckers, a funny face - or a creepy face! - it's totally up to you, and a great way to personalize your project, maybe even getting the kids involved!
Do Those Tentacles Look Familiar?
I used the Octopus Squish as the jumping-off point for this Halloween decor pattern! So if you've made that cute fella, you'll be off and running with this simple bowl pattern!
Three Pieces, One Bowl
The Halloween Tentacle Candy Bowl is made in three pieces, all assembled at the end. You could easily make this bowl in an evening or two, or over a weekend! My kids are too old for trick or treating now, but you're never too old for candy and fun!

Insert Inner Bowl into Outer Bowl: WS together, match up the last Rnd of the Inner Bowl with the first Rnd of the Outer Bowl.
Using the Color B yarn attached to the Inner Bowl, stitch through both layers (Outer then Inner) around: *sc in the next 17 sts, sc through the next stitch of the Outer and the previous st of the Inner; rep from * around, break yarn and seamless join.
Add Under-Tentacles: Using Color A, sc through Tentacles and Under-Tentacles from the Body side of the project, working evenly around the entire body. Use Seamless Finishing to join, break yarn and weave in ends.

Sherry Wonch
Anyway I could make this bigger for a dog bed? My sister's pug alwayd tries to get in the bowl I made with this pattern. I would like to make a bigger one she could fit in. Thanks!!
Tamara Kelly
Hi Sherry! Just keep increasing in pattern until you have the circumference you want, then go to working even!
Cass
Thank you for sharing such a cute pattern!
Question though about starting the Outer Bowl portion when you start the foundation half double crochet- Do you slip stitch at the end? Seeing as how it says for "Rnd 2 and 3" to "Hdc in each stitch around"...?
I appreciate your time and help.
Thanks!
Tamara Kelly
Hi Cass! This pattern is worked in a spiral, so no slip stitch joining! 🙂
