Block #9:

Galaxy Flower Square

Above is her square, made in her 4 colors. Below is my square, in my 4 colors!

The Details

My Notes: This square is pretty, quick and fun! This was a great evening make, and it's easy to adjust for size. Be sure to note that in Round 8 when you hdc in each st, that includes the chains in Round 7. Also please notice that Rounds 12 through 15 include a turn (this keeps your square from twisting).

Sizing: My square was coming out a bit big, so I just skipped the last round. But everyone's gauge and tension level are different so be sure to measure as you go. Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.

What I Did: I used a Furls US-J, 6.0 mm hook, and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows:

Rnd 1 and 2: Eggshell
Rnd 3 and 4: Celtic
Rnd 5 and 6: Tangerine
Rnd 7 and 8: Lettuce
Rnd 9 and 10: Eggshell
Rnd 11: Celtic
Rnd 12: Tangerine
Rnd 13: Lettuce
Rnd 14: Tangerine
Rnd 15: Lettuce
Rnd 16: omitted for size

This square required minimal blocking! I used the wet blocking method, or you could use light steam.
