Block #2: Festive Julie Ann
by Linda Dean Crochet
Above is the original made in 4 colors! Below, you can see my version, made with my 4 colors!
The Details:
My Notes: This pattern is pretty simple, with the most difficult stitch being a long post stitch worked two rows below – be sure to read over the special stich instructions before you begin! Also, be sure to note that you do not skip a stitch of the previous row – you work into each stitch of the previous row *plus* make the post stitches.

Sizing: This one was coming out a bit small for me, so I added an extra round of hdc and then it came out to 12″. But everyone’s gauge and tension level are different so be sure to measure as you go, and check your gauge. Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.
What I Did: I used a Furls US-J, 6.0 mm hook and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows – Rnd 1 and 2: Navy; Rnd 3: White; Rnd 4: Bluebell; Rnd 5: True Blue; Rnd 6: Navy; Rnd 7: White; Rnd 8: Bluebell; Rnd 9: True Blue; Rnd 10: Navy; Rnd 11: White; Extra Rnd: White.
This square benefited from a bit of blocking. To block this square, I used the wet blocking method and a Chetnanigans BlocksAll Ultra blocking board and Perfecting Strips.

LOVE this pattern!!!

HI, There is not a gauge listed. I had to go down 2 hook sizes with the 1st square. Don’t know who to ask about this, but I am also leaving a comment on Linda Deans blog. Thanks for any info.
Signick
Lovely, textured, and not like the same squares. So making this pattern. Thank you.
Tamara Kelly
It’s so pretty, I agree! Thank you Signick!
JAMs
Hello your block has the term: LLfpdc what does LL mean? USUALLY IF ONE TOSSES IN A NEW TERM, IT IS DEFINED.
Tamara Kelly
Hello JAMs! The stitch is defined on the pattern, right below the gauge. 🙂
Melissa
Once the pattern starts to square off, it states to attach yarn, chain 1 and sc in same stitch. Then so many sc, so many hdc, etc but, where do I attach? In what stitch? Does it matter?
Tamara Kelly
I believe it would be the first stitch of the previous round. 🙂
