Block #5:
Spring Dance Garden Flower
by KatiDCreations
Above is the original made in 3 colors! Below, you can see my version, made with my 4 colors!
The Details:
My Notes: This pattern offers several options for thickness - as you can see in the photos above, Kati designed her square with 3 layers of crocodile stitches, but for this CAL I asked for something thinner, so the pattern includes options for anywhere from 1-3 layers of crocodile stitches. I also made a couple small changes in my own square:
I tacked down the petals by crocheting through the picots in Rnd 19 - sts 7 and 16 of each side seemed to line up best.
While the waistcoat stitch has a great look, I'm slow at it, and I did not have as much time to devote to making this square as it needed. So I switched to BLO for those rounds instead for a similar look that was faster for me to crochet.
So you can make this square a very personal one - I can't wait to see what you all do with it! Do be sure to read all the pattern notes before you begin though - good info there!

Sizing: This one came out to 12" for me after 26 total rounds. But everyone's gauge and tension level are different so be sure to measure as you go and check your gauge. Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.
What I Did: I used a Furls US-J, 6.0 mm hook and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows: Rnd 1-9: Navy; Rnd 10-11: White; Rnd 12-18: True Blue; Rnd 19-21: Bluebell; Rnd 22/24: Navy; Rnd 23/25: Bluebell; Rnd 26: White.
This square benefited from a light bit of blocking. To block this square, I used the wet blocking method and a Chetnanigans BlocksAll Ultra blocking board and Perfecting Strips.
