I love this pattern. I made a pair for my grandson and would love to make matching pairs for his parents for Christmas. Do you have this pattern in men size 12 and women size 8?.

First I want to thank you for the incredibly creative pattern! I have never done the "braiding" or "crocheting into the 3rd loop of a half dc" techniques before, and the results are outstanding! I can think of so many ways to incorporate this into matching baby blankets and seaters, jester hats.....the list is endless!

I used regular worsted wool, Caron 4 ply, in the variegated country basket color. Don't know whether my gauge is off (it usually is) but I had to omit row 3 of the uppers to get the correct height for the foot. The booties are a beautiful update to my old-fashioned style booties of the past. Using instructions for size 2, I created booties with a 5" sole, perfect for my needs. Would love to post a picture, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do so.

My gauge was off because I hadn't done the fpdc correctly! For the Caron 4ply worsted weight wool, I used an F hook, fyi. When I redid the booties, they were sooooo luxurious! So much better than the first ones I did incorrectly! The fpdc adds a great deal of depth to the project. Again, great pattern and I'm looking forward to more posts from you!

Thank you for the pattern. Love this slipper. One problem, it took me forever to figure out why mine did not look like yours. I had to make a correction to the upper portion of round 9. It says to double crochet but it should say FPDC for this round following the amounts stated.

I got to this line and I'm a little stuck:
      Round 10: Ch 4 (1st dtr), *dtr 5, 2 dtr; repeat from * around, join. (36 sts)
If you could give me a little help I would appreciate it.

Hi Sheila, I'd be happy to try to help! What part of that line is giving you trouble? If it's the dtr, there is a tutorial here that should help: https://www.mooglyblog.com/tall-crochet-stitches/ 🙂

So is the 5 DTR in the next five stitches and the 2 DTR in the same stitch? I know how to do the DTR I'm just not sure of the instruction. Thanks so much for taking the time to help me I really do appreciate it. 😉

Hi Sheila! Yes, when the number is after the stitch it generally means to work one of those sts in each of that next number of stitches. When the number is before the stitch, it means to work that many stitches into one stitch. 🙂

I am loving this pattern so far for my kiddos. I have started a pair for my 3yearold and it would seem that I can't count, lol. I have come to making the tops of the slippers and I think my single crochet around the edge of the sole only has 49going around it. My question to you would be do you think it would make much difference if I just skipped that first row that should have been 56 stitches? Thank you in advance.

Hi Tracie! I might try to squeeze in a few more stitches if you can (maybe a few sneaky increases)? I would just worry the top would be too small.
