Block #10:
In A Dash Blanket Square
by Stitch & Hustle

Above you can see the square that Michele made, featuring 4 colors. Below is my CAL square, in my 3 colors! (I'm doing a stash buster, so these colors will change throughout the year. This is my first Lettuce one as I work through the rainbow!)

My Notes: The In A Dash Blanket Square is a fun mix of colors, stitches, rows, and rounds, perfect for your customization! The stitch combo creates a fun texture. The pattern writing style is not entirely standard, but it is easy to read and follow. When I was making this one, I found that with my gauge, the corners started to sort of point out a bit too much. To fix this, I eliminated some of the stitches in the corner ch spaces to bring them back down into shape. For example, in Rnd 10, I worked (hdc, ch 2, hdc) for the corner, instead of (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc).

Sizing: My square was coming out a bit small, so I added two more rnds in the style of Rnd 14 to get to size. But everyone's gauge is different so be sure to measure as you go! Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.
What I Did:
I used a Susan Bates US-J, 6.0 mm Twist and Lock hook, and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows (see pics for more info on placement):
Rows 1 - 3: Light Gray
Rows 4 - 6: Lettuce
Rows/Rnd 7 - 10: Light Gray
Rnds 11 and 12: White
Rnds 13 and 14 (plus 2 more rnds in pattern for size): Lettuce
Rnds 15 and 16: White
This square required a mild blocking. I used the wet blocking method.
