Block #8:
Livin' Easy Square
by Polly Plum Fiber Arts

Above you can see the square that she made, featuring 3 colors. Below is my CAL square, in my 3 colors! (I'm doing a stash buster, so these colors will change throughout the year. This is my second Daffodil one as I work through the rainbow!)

My Notes: The Livin' Easy square by Polly Plum is a quick project you can make in an evening or two. The instructions include two starts for each round - what to do when you change colors, and what to do when you stick with the same color as the round before. So every square can be truly unique!
There's a lovely bit of texture as well, and it's easy to add more rounds for size if needed. I can't wait to see all the wonderful variations you all come up with!
Helpful Links and Tutorials: Magic Circle (subbed for the ch start), Chainless Starting Double Crochet (subbed for ch 3 start), Join with SC (STSC), Back Loop Only (BLO), Treble Crochet, Post Stitches, Decreases, Join with DC (STDC), and seamless join.
Sizing: My square got to size as written. But everyone's gauge is different so be sure to measure as you go! Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.
What I Did:
I used a Susan Bates US-J, 6.0 mm Twist and Lock hook, and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows (see pics for more info on placement):
Rnds 1 and 2: Daffodil
Rnd 3: Light Gray
Rnds 4 and 5: White
Rnds 6 - 8: Light Gray
Rnds 9 - 11: Daffodil
Rnds 12 - 15: White
This square required a very mild blocking. I used the wet blocking method.
