CSDC – Chainless Starting Double Crochet
STDC – Standing Double Crochet
STHDC – Standing Half Double Crochet
NOTES:
Do not work into the top of a stitch that has a post stitch worked around it.
All increases happen on one side of the shawl – the other side should be straight/even.
I recommend using stitch markers in the first stitch of each row, and along the increases side as a visual reminder.
This pattern uses two active loops. So be sure to put a stitch marker in the unused active loop to prevent your work from coming undone.
If you prefer not to use the magic circle, you can ch 2 and work 2 dc in the first ch made.
Or if you prefer to not use the CSDC or STDC, you can ch 3 and count it as your first dc st, or use your preferred dc alternative.
SPECIAL ABBREVIATION
PULAD: Pull Up Loop And Drop – remove hook from active loop of yarn, and insert stitch marker to secure the loop. Move to the indicated active loop to continue pattern.
