BLOCK #11: Summer Romance Square
(Click the name of the pattern above to go to the Ravelry link for this pattern, or CLICK HERE to go the designer's blog. )

Above is the original, made with one color. Very sweet! This square is a gem- great in one color, as above, but also fun in 4 colors - as in my version below, made with Lion Brand Vanna's Choice!

Now for my notes!
- This pattern is very well, but you might want to use a ruler or another piece of paper to help you keep your place on the more complicated rows.
- The pattern starts with a chain 5, but I chose to start with the Magic Ring - you can find a Moogly tutorial for that HERE.
- After Round 9, I was only at 10.5" square, so I worked Round 10 in hdc instead of sc, but otherwise as directed.
- My color changes were as follows: Round 1 - 3 Blue; Round 4 - 6 White; Round 7 - 8 Red; and Round 9 - 10 Green.
I enjoyed making the Summer Romance Afghan Square, and I hope that you do too! If it isn't your thing, you can find a list of alternate free squares patterns by clicking HERE as well as a list of fantastic paid squares patterns by clicking HERE! Thanks so much for crocheting-a-long with me!

Hi Patricia! The emails from Moogly only go out once a week, on Saturday morning (10am Central US time). Each one has a link to the latest square. 🙂

I am attempting to work up row 9 now, and i feel like when i am starting my row that i am a stitch off at the beginning. My SC's seem to be being placed in the first DC on each part of the top of the heart, but my guy instinct is telling me i should be stitching into the middle DC on each part of the heart... Is anyone able to tell me if my gut instinct is right or the way i am crocheting it is correct? Thank you in advance!
Ashley

Follow your gut instinct on this one! I'm not sure how it got shifted, but the sc should be in the middle of each half of the heart.
