Why You Should Make the Frankenstein’s Monster Treat Basket
The Frankenstein’s Monster Treat Basket joins the Ghost Treat Basket in adding a little Halloween fun to your holiday! This smiley guy features a tall, roomy design - perfect for holding candy, treats, toys, yarn, or whatever little things need a spooky-season home.

It's so quick and fun to crochet! Simple color changes and a little crooked smile give this basket plenty of personality, while the simple fold-over construction makes it a practical project you'll pull out year after year!

Oh, and did I mention there is NO SEAMING!? The Frankenstein’s Monster Treat Basket is made in one continuous piece, all worked from the Right Side, with just 6 ends to weave in when you're done.

The finished basket is double-walled so it's sturdy, strong, and stands up on its own even when totally empty - just like the Ghost Treat Basket! Make one for yourself, make it a set, and crochet a few to give as Halloween gifts or use as treat baskets for the whole family.

Finishing and Assembly
Turn the basket Wrong Side out.

Fold the basket over itself at Rnd 19, so that the unused front loops show at the top edge of the basket and the RS of Rnd 33 is on the outside bottom.

Add Safety Eyes: Insert the eyes between Rnds 25 and 26, from the RS. Be sure to add them on the opposite side from the seam, and space them evenly between the Popcorn stitch arms. Only go through one layer of the basket, as seen above. Take a few moments to double-check the spacing of the eyes before adding the backs and making them permanent.
Add Smile: Use a short length of Color A and the yarn needle to sew on a simple smile - as shown, or however you like!
