BLOCK #10: Flower Tile Afghan Square
(Click the name of the pattern above to go to the Ravelry link for this pattern. Or, CLICK HERE FOR THE DIRECT LINK TO THE PATTERN)

Above is the original, made with an amazing 8 colors. I've linked to the Ravelry page rather than directly to the pattern, so you can get a peak at some of the other color schemes that have been used for this pattern! Below is my version - made in my 4 colors of Lion Brand Vanna's Choice! It definitely needs blocking, but I love the way it turned out!

Now for my notes!
- This pattern isn't formatted in the "usual" way, but it's easy enough to read and comes with an extensive photo tutorial too!
- The adjustable ring that the pattern starts with is the same thing as the magic ring or magic circle, and you can find a Moogly tutorial for that HERE.
- For Round 9, the directions are to V st in each V st around - this means in every ch-1 sp (it gets a little confusing on the corners). You'll have 52 V sts total.
- After Round 9, I was only at 11" square, so I worked Round 10 in hdc instead of sc, but otherwise as directed.
- My color changes were as follows: Round 1 Red; Round 2 - 3 White; Round 4 Blue; Round 5 Green; Round 6 Blue; Round 7 Red; Round 8 White, Round 9 Blue, and Round 10 Green.
I hope you enjoy making the Flower Tile Afghan Square! If it isn't your thing, you can find a list of alternate free squares patterns by clicking HERE. Thanks so much for crocheting-a-long with me!

I have tried repeatedly to get the pattern for #10 and it was a complete round robin. I cannot get to the pattern without going thru pages of other patterns and then it sends me back to the original page. Can you help?

Hi! I'm not sure where people are having trouble, but I'll add the direct link to the post. Here it is as well: http://browniedoodles.blogspot.com/2013/11/flower-tile-afghan-square.html 🙂

Tamara Kelly says
Hi Judiper, what are you having trouble with? If you click on the name of the pattern in big pink letters it should take you to the Ravelry page, which has a link to the blog with the pattern.
Judiper says

The blocks I've seen so far are beautiful! It's not too late to join is it? I've never done a CAL before so is there some way I need to sign up or just start working?
Tamara Kelly says
No sign up, just jump on in! 😀 Thank you so much!

I got the pattern but I don't need all the pictures. I'm on Social Security and can't afford to use so much printer ink. Is there anywhere I can just get the written instructions without the pictures?
Tamara Kelly says
Hello Mary! I'd recommend copying and pasting the pattern to a word document, and then deleting the photos. 🙂
Mary W says
That sounds like a wonderful idea. The problem is I don't have Word and on Social Security I can't afford to buy it. Thanks for the response though.
Tamara Kelly says
Don't give up yet! There are free office softwares out there. I use Libre Office - 100% free! 🙂
C J says
Open Office is a good free one also.
Cheryl says
I agree with a lot of the others the pattern for this one is just a pain to get to and print off. I really like it but I am just not willing to spend so much time to copy paste just to get rid of the pictures. Or spend the money on ink to print 14 pages.

Yes do have a video of this pattern because I'm disability so I hope you do I love this square thank you for your help
Tamara Kelly says
Hi Elaine! It's not my pattern, it was designed by Marta Chrzanowska - You'd need to ask her for a video I'm afraid!
