Do you have a picture of a person wearing the bag, it's nice to see for sizing. thank you.
Tamara Kelly says
I don't at this time, but I'll try to get some taken soon! My model grew up and moved out! I do recommend taking the measurement you want you handle to be and then just working it to that length, plus a few extra inches for sewing.

Thank you!

This yarn - How much does it stretch under weight of what's in the bag?
Story time: I'm having flashbacks of 1976 bicentennial when I was 13. I made a red white and blue purse - one of my first projects - and wore it to an event on the 4th of July. The bag ended up at my knees, and the contents were falling out of all the holes in the stitches. An older cousin saved me with some bags we put the contents in, then put that in the bag. 😁
Tamara Kelly says
There is some stretch to the yarn and stitching, so to prevent that you can line the bag and the handle. 🙂
Anna says
Hello ~ I was concerned about the same issue. Wondering if you’ve made it and if so, did it end up stretching out much?
Thnx,
Anna

Thanks so much for this pattern! My 10 year old granddaughter asked me to crochet a purse for her. Being a newbie, I looked for a cute purse with a simple pattern. I love the herringbone half double crochet stitch! It’s simple yet beautiful. I am currently working on purses for my other two granddaughters. 🥰

Thank you so much, Laurie! ♥

You can try using Tunisian simple stitch for the handle and lining the inside of the bag with fabric and add a zipper.

Do you have a tutorial for the Casual Crochet Crossbody Bag

Sarah says
Hi! In rnd 2 of the bottom of the bag you say to “hhdc in the side of the previous st” but I’m not sure what you mean by the side? I’m fairly new to crocheting. Do you just mean through the inside loop of the V?
Tamara Kelly says
Hi Sarah! So when you make a crochet stitch, you have two loops at the top that make the V, and then below that there are the loops that create the post or body of the stitch, giving it height. You want to work into those sts of the post - along the literal side of the stitch. This video tutorial shows this stitch: https://www.mooglyblog.com/casual-crossbody-bag-pouch-tutorial/
