    Made in Universal Yarns Vireo

I was gifted this yarn at an event a year (or was it two?) ago, and it's been waiting to become this tote! This is the first chance I've had to try Universal Yarns Vireo, and I really liked it! It was a joy to stitch!

    Matcha Cream Crochet Tote Bag

Here's the official blurb from the experts: 'A blend of sustainable tencel and wool, Vireo is a versatile yarn with a cheerful palette of 16 colors. Soft, smooth, and a touch springy, Vireo boasts remarkable stitch definition and a slight sheen. It offers just the right amount of drape and excels in lace, textural stitches, and cables. This yarn is perfect for trans-seasonal garments and accessories you can wear well into the summer.'

Make the Matcha Cream Crochet Tote Bag your own!

This yarn isn't super easy to find, available primarily online - and it looks like it might be about to be discontinued, judging by the sale price that just popped up as I write this. So some suggested substitutions include LB Collection Botanic, Premier Bamboo Select, and Berocco Modern Cotton. Of course, it's a tote bag, which means you can use any weight of yarn you like - it doesn't have to "fit!"

    Matcha Cream Crochet Tote Bag

The Matcha Cream Crochet Tote Bag features built-in handles, an openwork body in crisp white, and a solid, tightly stitched bottom for added structure. The breathable mesh design makes it lightweight while keeping your items secure—ideal for shopping trips or a day at the beach!

Even if you're newer to crochet, this pattern offers an easy-to-follow pattern, and step-by-step video tutorials to guide you. Say goodbye to plastic bags and hello to sustainable style! This tote is perfect for shopping, travel, or even as a lovely storage solution at home.

    NOTES:

This pattern switches from Rows to Rounds.

If you would prefer to avoid the FSC stitch, replace Row 1 with the following: Ch 43, skip the ch closest to the hook, sc in each rem ch across. Then, continue with Row 2 of the pattern as written.

The rounds in this pattern are turned - this means that you turn at the end of each round, working half the rounds from the WS of the piece.

If you would prefer to avoid the CSDC stitch, you can use a ch-3 or the double crochet substitute of your choice.

For longer or shorter handles, adjust the length of the chains in Rnd 7 of the Top and Handles Instructions. Be sure to make the same number of chains for each handle.
