    The Details

My Notes: Linda has created a gorgeous and delicate square with beautiful stitching. But don't let it intimidate you! I do recommend you print out the pattern and use a bookmark or another piece of paper to go line by line - particularly on Rnds 8 and 9. Remember that this square is symmetrical, meaning each side is the same, and the end of each side is the same.

I did get a first draft of this pattern, so mine is ever so slightly different than Linda's - but I think they're both beautiful!

Need Video Help? I will be going live on YouTube on January 26th at approximately 11:30am CT to answer questions on this pattern, with the designer's permission!

Helpful Links and Tutorials: Standing Single Crochet, Standing Double Crochet, Chainless Starting Treble Crochet, Post Stitches, Standing Post Stitches, Back Loop Only/Front Loop Only, and Seamless Finishing.

Sizing: My square came out to size on the sides, so I used blocking to bring out the corners, making the square as written.  But everyone's gauge is different so be sure to measure as you go! Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.

What I Did: I used a Susan Bates US-J, 6.0 mm Twist and Lock hook, and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows (see pics for more info on placement):

    Rnd 1: White
    Rnd 2: Light Gray
    Rnds 3 and 4: Pewter
    Rnd 5: White
Rnds 6 and 7: Light Gray
    Rnd 8: Pewter
    Rnd 9: White
    Rnd 10: Light Gray
    Rnd 11: Pewter
    Rnd 12: White

This square required moderate blocking. I used the wet blocking method, or you could use light steam.

I love your colors. Just so pretty. It looks intimidating , but I know those kind aren't really as hard to do as they look.i know all the stitches. Just got to focus when doing . Thank you for sharing.

I would love to join this CAL! I'm usually knitting but I like to take a break from it every now and then to crochet. And I live the colours you've chosen. 🥰
