Block #5:
Echo Square
by The Stitchin' Mommy
Above is her square, made in 4 colors! Below is my CAL square, in my 6 colors!
The Details
My Notes: This is a simple but lovely design, wonderful to relax with at the end of a long day. Great for beginners, it's an easy and well-written pattern. And you can really play with color order to make it your own!
Helpful Links and Tutorials: Magic Circle; Chainless Starting Double Crochet; Standing Double Crochet; Post Stitches; and Seamless Finishing.
Sizing: My square was coming out just a tiny bit big, so I switched the last round from dc to sc. However, everyone's gauge and tension levels are different so be sure to measure as you go. Learn how to adjust for size HERE to make sure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down – not diagonally corner to corner.
What I Did: I used a Furls US-J, 6.0 mm hook, and Red Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows:
Rnd 1-2: White
Rnd 3: Iced Aqua
Rnd 4: Lettuce
Rnd 5: Cornsilk
Rnd 6: Tangerine
Rnd 7: Cornsilk
Rnd 8: Lettuce
Rnd 9: Iced Aqua
Rnd 10: White
Rnd 11: Pewter
This square required strong blocking. I used the wet blocking method, and you may wish to finish with a light steam.

Will there be a full tutorial for this or are the hint videos all that is needed?
Tamara Kelly
This one shouldn't really need a full tutorial - the stitches themselves are pretty straightforward. 🙂
