Single Skein Meditation
Staring in July seems like a great idea, but it has to be small or light to beat the heat, right? And what happens if the recipient lives in a hot climate - or travels to warmer locals for the winter? The Artfully Simple Angled Wrap is incredibly light, and works well as a comfort wrap, shawl, lightweight lapghan, oversized scarf - or even a swim sarong for those tropical holidays!
The Artfully Simple Angled Wrap uses the same stitching as the Artfully Simple Angled Scarf and Artfully Simple Infinity Scarf, but here I've blown it up even bigger with a larger hook and fine yarn that comes in a big gradient cake. The lace made is bold yet delicate, colorful but comforting.
This stitch pattern was indeed a comfort to crochet - a meditation of sorts. Back and forth, watching the colors slowly transition. I hope crocheting it brings you a sense of peace as well, and that it brings joy when you wear it - or gift it!
I crocheted and published this pattern while my son is in the hospital having and recovering from his Mitral Valve Transplant. And I took the photos in various locations around the hospital, late at night - getting a few curious glances from the maintenance crew! I'll try to show off the shawl a bit better in the video tutorial to come.
