Like most crafty people, I like to play around with a few different craft genres - including paper crafting, and particularly when I also get to use my Cricut! So when I got the chance to take a look inside Leisure Art's new book, Paper Flowers by Jennifer Maker, it got those creative juices flowing. And now I get to share all of it with you - and give away a copy to one lucky winner!

Paper Flowers includes the instructions and templates for 10 different projects - and even with only 10, there's a great variety!
Each project includes a shopping list, step-by-step instructions, close up full-color photos, and the shapes to cut out. You can use tracing paper, or for several of the projects, a SVG ready cutting machine like a Cricut Maker! Right up my alley! The links for the downloadable template files are included in the book.
But you know me - I can never just follow instructions, I have to add my own twist! So I used the Dahlia pattern in Paper Flowers to make a pair of "succulents!"
And voila! I've been learning macrame (more on that later this week) - so you'll see these again!
As I kept looking through the book, still more inspiration struck! I uploaded the leaf template from the Dandelion pattern to my Cricut Maker, added a couple cut slits with the rectangle Shapes tool, and the machine cut out the Cricut Faux Suede just beautifully.
Slip a stick shawl pin through, and now I've got a gorgeous new shawl pin embellishment - this one is perfect for fall, but you can really get creative with this idea! So much fun!
I enjoyed exploring all the creative possibilities in Paper Flowers, and I think you will too! You can get your own copy of this book on Leisure Arts, Amazon US, and Amazon UK! And I'm going to send one winner a copy too - just enter the giveaway below!
