I know I'm not the only yarny who has resorted to aggressively counting at my kids and spouse from time to time!
With the "Shh... I'm Counting Socks", you can get your message across without losing your place - and you can make your own with this Quick Cricut Craft on Moogly!

Have you seen all the sassy socks lately? They are all over the shops, with everything from "If you can read this, bring me wine" to "Shh... I'm playing video games" on the soles.
Well, I thought we crocheters and knitters needed our own! But you can use this tutorial to make a custom pair to reflect any interest you have - making this a great custom gift idea. You can click here to go to the Cricut Project Page, and then follow this tutorial below!
In addition to some plain cotton socks, all I needed was a few inches of leftover Iron-on Vinyl and the Cricut machines and tools, each of which I've linked below!
One of my favorite (new to me) features in Cricut Design Space are the templates - I didn't spot a sock template, but the flip flop template worked just fine to give me the dimensions I needed to stick to.
In addition, I snagged a Yarn ball image from the Image files included with Cricut Access!
Then, it was just a matter of picking a font and letter and image placement - I used the Chalkboard Font, also included in Cricut Access!
And then it was time to send the cut to my Cricut Maker - don't forget to mirror for iron-ons! I also moved the pieces to be cut around a bit, to fit the scrap of iron-on I was using up.
Cutting with my Cricut Maker took just a few minutes!
And then a bit of weeding using the Cricut BrightPad and Cricut Tools, and it was time to heat the EasyPress 2 to 325 degrees.
I also put a folded piece of paper on the inside of each sock - to help the sole lay flat and uniformly.
I pre-heated each sock's sole, and then lined up the iron on bits and pressed them on. I tried peeling the backing off of one sock after it had cooled, and off of the other when it was still warm - I'd recommend peeling (carefully) while warm, it was a little easier.
Et voila! Shh, I'm counting socks perfect for any knitter or crocheter. The vinyl comes in lots of colors, and you can feel free to customize this free project file to fit your own needs - change the words, replace the yarn ball, switch the font, adjust it to kid's foot sizes, and have fun with it!

I want these. But I am Cricut-less. Would anyone out there take a commission? (Using men's socks; I'm 5'10" with feet to match)

Hi Heather! There are iron-on letters available in most craft stores if you want to go that route too - just an idea! 🙂
