Should I stiffen the basket for hanging outside on my deck? What would be the best to use other than sugar water?

I didn't stiffen mine at all, but I would recommend spray starch from the laundry aisle!

I was concerned that the wind would blow them and it would all fall out. I’ll figure it out. Thank you for your quick response.
