What Are Hat Templates?
If you’ve ever struggled to make hats that fit, or found yourself trying to guess what size you need, then these hat templates are going to be your new best friend. These handy tools take all the guesswork out of making perfectly sized hats – baby to adult!
No matter what yarn you use, these templates help ensure your top-down beanie sizing is spot on every time. They’re a game-changer for crocheters and knitters alike! All the sizes are included - from 0-3 months to XL Adult! These are high quality templates made of strong, durable material - a buy-it-for-life purchase!

How To Use Hat Templates
Just grab the babé crochet hat template for the size you want to make and you'll get the right fit, every time, no math needed! Work a flat circle in the stitch pattern of your choice, until the curve matches the curve at the top of the template.

Then, work evenly until you've matched the length of the template. Prefer a slouchy beanie or folded brim? Work a little longer!

Whenever I make a top-down hat, I use babé crochet Hat Templates! The most recent was the Northstar Beanie, but these work for bucket hats as well as beanies and slouches! And while the are "officially" for crochet, heads are all the same size, so these are great for knitters too!

Get Your Own Hat Templates Here!
You’ve seen me use these templates in video tutorials and pattern photos before – not to mention a whole lot of giveaways! And now, I’m so excited to offer them directly in the Moogly Etsy Shop as an approved reseller!
No more hunting around – just pop over to Etsy and grab your own set, shipped right to your door. These make awesome gifts for your yarny friends, too!

I've made hundreds of hats, always figuring they will fit someone. But I did need to go extra, extra large for one woman. Her head circumference was average but she had a lot of extensions that were braided and worn all up on her head. Even my men's largest did not fit. Finally, I made a cowl with a drawstring so she could wear it as a hat or a cowl and we were both happy with the result.
Cindy Stewart says

The biggest hat I crocheted was an adult hat with a real pretty design and the best pompom I ever made. But it was 11" long and 22" wide. It was so big, I was afraid the wind might blow it off my head! But I guess I could wear it as a slouch hat. So yes, I need help with sizing.
