    Made in WeCrochet Hawthorne DK

I've had a couple of skeins in this yarn just begging to be used, and inspiration finally struck! As did a cold front... and a new hat suddenly seamed like just the thing. Hawthorne DK is a blend of 80% Fine Superwash Highland Wool and 20% Polyamide (Nylon). This means that anything you make with this yarn will be both warm and strong, and stand up to real life - snow, sleet, and shoved in a backpack or between the seats!

Here's the official blurb from the experts: 'A reflection of the great Northwest, Hawthorne is a yarn inspired by the varied and vibrant place we call home. This sturdy, colorful, superwash yarn is made up of a blend of superwash wool for comfort and warmth and nylon for strength. Together they make a beautiful canvas for colors that range from bright and playful to moody and sophisticated. A classic high twist gives this the bounce and resilience, great for projects that are both sturdy and make a statement. Use this DK-weight version of Hawthorne for heavy socks and slippers, midweight accessories, easy-care blankets, and gorgeous sweaters.'

Follow your own Northstar... to a Beanie!

The Northstar Beanie brings warmth and style together in perfect harmony! The color I used features rich, tonal blues that mimic the deep winter sky—swirling with depth and dimension, just like a starry night. The kettle dyeing gives every hat a unique look, making each one truly one of a kind! But of course, there are other lovely colors to choose from, all combining handmade charm and high-quality yarn.

For me, this was a wonderful road trip project. I was able to keep my hands busy and my mind entertained, without having to fuss with difficult instructions or stitches complicated enough to make me motion sick. Stay warm, look fabulous, and let your crochet shine with the Northstar Beanie!

Thank you so much for this gorgeous pattern and all the resources! I guess I am not as advanced a beginner as I thought (lol) because I am not sure what the main stitch pattern is for the gauge swatch. Would you suggest I make a gauge swatch with (dc, exfpdc)?

Hi Nina! Thank you! Yes, the gauge would be from the pattern at the Sides!
