Up First: Essentials
The Tunisian Crochet Handbook is broken into four sections – Essentials, Stitches, Skills, and Designs. And Essentials really does start at the beginning, with a breakdown of Tunisian hooks, and lots of information on how to read crochet patterns. It’s a small section, but it’s packed with great info to get you started!
Learn the Stitches and Build Your Skills
The stitch descriptions in The Tunisian Crochet Handbook include fantastic full-color photos and lots of closeups. In addition to the basics, there are some really fun stitch patterns to learn too! Including chevrons and the super popular honeycomb stitch!
And then in Skills, it’s time to take it to the next level! Learn several techniques for adding colors, shaping, and working in the round – a skill I look forward to learning myself. The finishing section will leave you with a project you feel proud to show off.
20 Easy, Yet Challenging, Tunisian Patterns
So what to do with all these skills and stitches? You can immediately put them to use with the lovely crochet patterns included in The Tunisian Crochet Handbook!
There’s a great variety of patterns in this book, from accessories to garments to home decor. I needed to brush up on my own Tunisian skills, so I decided to try the Geo Pot Holders! Here’s a look at the potholders in the book:
And here’s my Geo Pot Holder WIP! I didn’t have time to finish it before writing this post, but look for the finished pics on Instagram! I really enjoyed working on it with Lily Sugar’n Cream, and my Susan Bates Tunisian hook.
The instructions are really well written, and I love the variety of finishing options! And I know that the other patterns here will continue to inspire!

I watch Toni on her YouTube channel and love her. All the reviews of yarn and patterns are great. And of course I love Moogly and tell all my friends about your projects, even the beginners because your instructions are so good.

Perfect timing, Tamara! I am following Knitter Knotter and saving the Tunisian squares again this year. There are some really pretty designs! I crochet, but have never tried Tunisian, but I am ready to start. I have my hooks and some yummy yarns; this book would be the perfect reference tool. You have the best giveaways and sponsors!

Thank you so much, Barbara! Good luck! ♥

I am making one of Toni’s Tunisian crochet shawls now. Was going to order her book but just bought a set of Tunisian hooks ($$$) and thought I better hold off on that purchase for a bit….LOL
