Remember that children don't stand still for long! Click HERE for some great methods to make your slippers non-slip!

You can use any combo of colors you like, all one color, it's up to you! I did add one extra touch to these - Kreinik Glow in the Dark Blending Filament! It makes these slippers do exactly what it says - glow in the dark!

It's dramatic in person, though difficult to catch on camera. Fortunately I was able to catch the photo above by using a long exposure. And it adds a super fun element for kid's slippers! See the link below in the pattern for more info. It's thin enough to add to a project without adding bulk or changing the "weight" - love that!

These are so beautiful Tamara and I am in the process of making them and I don't understand what is meant when you say: "of left most of the 2 heel sts" when starting the upper part of the slipper. Can you please clarify this for me? Thanks for your help and thanks for sharing your pattern.

For US2/3, on row 7 for the upper the count is off. Decreasing as you instruct brings it to 48, not 47 stitches.

I think you're referring to Round 6? It reads: Ch 2, fpdc in the 1st 21 sts, fpdc2tog twice, fpdc3tog, fpdc2tog twice, fpdc in last 21 sts; join. (47 sts)

        To break it down, 21 sts, plus 2 decrease stitches, plus 1 big decrease stitch, plus 2 decrease stitches, plus 21 more stitches - 21 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 21 = 47

I did mean row 6, thanks.
          Yes, 21+2+1+2+21=47. But if you're starting from 54 stitches in row 5, 54-2 (fpdc2tog twice) -2 (fpdc3tog) -2 (fpdc2tog twice) =48 not 47.
I did a fpdc4tog and continued the pattern as written.

I had the same problem and corrected it by doing 4fpdc as well. There is also the same problem for the size 13. I am also concerned about the size 2/3 being 8.5 inches. Mine came out to be closer to 9.5 so I remaking using a smaller hook.
I really do think these are very cute. Thank you for providing the pattern for all of us to use.

I'm a little confused about Row 4 on the Left Sole of size US 4/5. There seem to be 8 stitches and then a turn....No ch1 and then another 8 stitches. Are there two rows here since there is a "turn"? The pattern reads (8 stitches) at the end of Row 4. If it is one row , is it one row of 8 and then another row of 8 on top? 8 stitches or 16??
Thank you if you could give a little x-tra help.

I Wish I could post pictures of my finished products (though i did post pictures on my crochet page)! Someone asked for slippers for their kids and with some googling I found your blog and it has become my go-to! Granted the slippers I've made are character slippers (thus far I've made two pairs of monkey, working on two more, two pairs of dinosaurs, and my 4-year-old demanded a pair of winged dragons 😂). So I followed th patterns up to the regular dc at the top, and used the ridge creates by the BPDC to align eyes and ears and the like. And today I joined the free trial of the craftsy unlimited and stumbled upon a granny square video. Yours! I totally needed out! To finally see the idol who created such an amazing place! Thank you thank you thank you. You've already expanded my little world so much. I've always been terrible at reading patterns. Yours are so clear and east to follow. Again. Thank you!

I'm confused at the sizing. My feet are a size 1/2, and I started making the sole for a size 2/3. It's half the width of my foot! Is the first few rows of the upper supposed to cover the rest of the bottom of the foot, or is this just made for super narrow and long feet?

I love these patterns and have made them now in just about every size. Thanks Tamara for such amazing designs and easy to follow instructions. I do think there is a count error in the Us 6/7 size. Row 6 ends with 54 stitches correctly however the count on Row 7 is off using only 53 of the stitches. I corrected with one additional FP2tog to end with the 47 stitches required. In case anyone else has trouble. 🙂
