There are dozens, if not hundreds of different kinds of crochet hooks and knitting needles out there - and finding one's own perfect tools is a journey for each maker! Personally, I love trying out new hooks and needles - the more unique the better. So I jumped at the chance to try out Kollage Square Hooks and Needles - and give away one of each here on Moogly!
Disclaimer: Materials for this giveaway provided by Louet.
Kollage Square Hooks are ergonomic because the "square handle decreases contact stress by giving your fingers a flat surface to rest on while crocheting."
I gave one of these hooks a try, and it was indeed unique! Because I tend to twirl my hook when I crochet, it took some getting used to. For those who hold their hooks in one position, I think it will be a faster adjustment. If you like a flat thumb rest on your hook, I think you'll love these!
Even having to adjust my usual crocheting technique, I really enjoyed using the Kollage Square Hook and I found that it did keep my hand more relaxed and tension free, just as promised. These hooks come in both pointed and rounded tips too, so you can really pick the hook that's right for you!
Kollage Square Circular Knitting Needles are ergonomic for the exact same reasons - a flat surface provides more surface contact! And while I hadn't seen the hooks before, I had been wanting to give these a try for a while!
I love these needles! The square shape doesn't just feel good, I think it improved my stitch consistency too (I tend to knit tightly, but not with these). And they were ready to use right out of the package - no need to soak or soften the cable!
The cable join on the firm needles (which I tried) is fantastic too - it swivels completely, so there's no annoying twisting and tangling and straightening out to do. The tips are sharp, making it super easy to get into even complicated stitches, and I like that they are aluminum with the sized etched on - no digging out the gauge to find the right pair.
Both the Kollage Square Hooks and the Kollage Square Circular Knitting Needles are made in America, with a lifetime warranty. You can purchase them at a local retailer or find an online retailer by clicking here!
And now, let’s get to that giveaway! I'll be mailing this one out myself - and I'll be sending a US-J/6.0mm Rounded Tip hook and a set of US-8/5.0mm Kollage Square Circular Knitting Needles (Firm) to one lucky winner - so no matter which is your favorite craft, you'll have at least one new tool to try for yourself!

I'm always trying to find different hooks..

I have their interchangeables and double points. I was hoping they would come out with crochet hooks.

These look amazing very unique! I'm not a knitter but have sometimes been curious if 2 needles would be more confusing than 1 hook! I know knitting makes amazing things with different look than crochet! I love crochet.

I had to slow down my knitting because of arthritis - I would love to try these!

I've learn to knit at 12yrs old and been loving it evers since. I also learn how to crotchet to, but I still haven't learn how to read pattern in knitting. But i still don't have a problem creating my own ideal of a project. I will always love knitting and crotcheting know matter what happen.
Thanks you.

I am so behind lol! Didn't even know about these! Geesh! I want one ! Lol

I'm a crocheter, but have only used their knitting needles. A few years ago I taught myself how to knit and have only knit a single pair of songs, using Kollage needles. They were amazing! I didn't know they had hooks!

They look like they could fast become a favorite. I would love to give them a whirl.

Wow! This new style crochet hook would help me a lot since I recently sprained my left hand -I'm a lefty - so my crocheting has slowed down quite considerably. Holding the square hook would probably help stabilize my wrist as my hand holds the hook and I know I sometimes "twirl" the hook, inadvertently of course. I'm sure the knitting needle handle would expedite my knitting also. What a boon to us "hookers". Thank you for your consideration.

WOW! What a wonderful enhancement to crochet hooks; I recently sprained my left wrist [being a lefty that definitely put a crimp in my crochet style] - and has slowed down my progress quite a bit. I catch myself "twirling" the hook ever so often, which now annoys my sprained wrist quite often while I work on new-born baby beanies to donate to 2 local hospitals. In nearly 2 years I have donated just under 500 beanies but this sprained wrist has slowed down my progress. I believe the square hook would stabilize my wrist and help me get back up to speed - 2 beanies per night. Thank you for your consideration.

WOW! What an enhancement to crochet hooks - I recently sprained my left wrist [I am a lefty] and this has definitely put a crimp in my crochet work.
I inadvertently "twirl" the round hooks and with this sprained wrist it has slowed down my progress, besides annoying the sprain. I donate newborn beanies to 2 local hospitals and have donated just under 500 beanies in 2 years time. I believe the square hook would stabilize my wrist and let me get back up to speed - 2 beanies per night. Thank you for your consideration.
