Now I'm really curious what happens if you put this yarn in the microwave. XD Seriously, though, this sounds amazing for winter wear! It would be great for making items for charity, too, especially for the homeless having to spend too much time outside in the cold.

Microwaving any acrylic yarn for too long will be a problem, but this one might spark. 😉

Hi!
When you say UV light, does that include UV light emmited from florescent lights? The office is always so cold, both winter and summer, and if the florescent lights bring the yarn to a temperature higher than the office air temp, that would be AMAZING!
Thanks!
Tamara Kelly
I had to google that one! According to Sciencing.com, "In all fluorescent bulbs, an electric current in a low-pressure mercury vapor produces ultraviolet light. The UV strikes a phosphor coating on the inside of the bulb, which emits white light by fluorescence. Although all fluorescent lamps have the potential for leaking some UV light, the phosphor coating blocks the vast majority of it. The long fluorescent tubes used in home and office lighting fixtures produce very little ultraviolet light."
So alas, they probably won't activate the yarn!

I just saw this video was made a few years ago. Not sure if you will still respond but I was wondering what I could use as a replacement yarn? As I’m beginning hot flashes I really do not want any added warmth. 🙁

Hi Lisa! For this yarn, Red Heart With Love is the perfect substitute. 🙂
