Whenever I make a top-down hat, I use babé crochet Hat Templates! The most recent are the Woven Warmth Hat, Casual Crochet Bucket Hat, Ribbon Run Hat, and Cobblestone Hat. Yes, these work for bucket hats as well as beanies and slouches! Shown in the other images is the Diamond Crochet Hat!

Now Available in PDF Form - and Spanish and French!
The original Hat Templates are made of tough plastic, meant to last a lifetime. But there's now a new option - you can get them as PDFs! So you can print out just your favorite sizes in a good stiff cardstock - or use your Cricut to get real fancy! It's a fantastic, green option - at significant savings. The PDF version even includes extra sizes for Preemies!

Additionally, the pattern instructions are now available in English, Spanish, and French! Oooh lala!

But Wait... What are babé crochet Hat Templates?
If you haven't spotted these before, you are in for a treat! They revolutionize the hat making process, making it so you don't have to consult charts or tape measures or try it on again and again (though that might be part of the fun). babé crochet hat templates tell you how big (or small) to make your hats to fit every size - no math or tape measures needed! Here's a video I made on TikTok with more info on how they work!
@mooglyblog crocheting and knitting hats *that fit* doesn't require getting gauge, or finding just the right pattern. babé crochet hat templates make is so so easy. and I'm giving away 2 sets on Moogly right now! 😘 ends January 8, 2025, open worldwide! #babécrochet @babecrochetco #giveaway #crochet #knitting ♬ It's Lookin' Good - Becca Lynn
Using babé crochet Hat Templates is an extremely smooth experience. Working your hat top-down (crown to brim), put the center of your first round over the hole. Then, you match the size of your flat circle to the top of the curve. Once that is achieved, work even until it's the length of the template for a beanie, and a bit longer for slouch. This works for bucket hats too - I also used them to create the Casual Bucket Hat!

No more fussing about sizing! Instead, you can grab the template for the size of the hat you're making and toss it in your project bag. If you crochet for a big family - or craft fairs - you can put together a set of templates with your most needed sizes to whip them up faster than ever! Great for all your holiday travel and vacations!

By Once, Use It for Life
I've been using them for years - ever since I first learned about them! And I can tell that the set I have will last my entire crochet career, and keep getting used. These hat templates are made from strong plastic and each is embossed with its "Tool Number." You can see how these work on the chart below. You'll get a chart with each set, as well as a wire ring to keep the templates and chart organized, and a tutorial on how to use the templates.
Each full physical set includes baby to adult head sizes from Newborn all the way up to Adult XL (Head circumferences of 34.95cm up to 61.6cm -- 13 ¾" up to 24 ¼’). The PDF version includes 4 more Preemie sizes!

I love these. I have been making baby blankets and hats for a social worker that is helping teenagers that are keeping their babies and I am always unsure of the size hat.
