Chevron Lace Fingerless Mitts

October 31, 2014 By: Tamara Kelly34 Comments

One of my first patterns on Moogly was the Chevron Lace Wrap – and I’m delighted to see that people are still making it! Chevrons are here to stay! And recently I got a request for matching crochet fingerless gloves – and I thought that was a great idea! I’ve been traveling, and these were made on the road, photographed in a hotel room… and came in very handy when there was a sudden drop in the temperature! Introducing the free crochet pattern for Chevron Lace Fingerless Mitts! UPDATE: I’ve had this pattern tech edited (thank you Kyla!!) and it should be much clearer now! Thank you all for your patience!

Chevron Lace Fingerless Mitts: free #crochet pattern on Moogly!Disclaimer: This post includes affiliate links.

This pattern is made with DK weight yarn, for a slim and warm fit. I used a self striping sock yarn, Schachenmayr Regia Stripemania Color! The mitts only used a little bit of the yarn, but I’ll have a pattern up soon to use up more of the skein, and keep the chevron fun coming!

Quick, simple, and fun! I love the combo of chevrons and self striping yarn – and I hope you do too! Of course, you can use solids, variegated yarns, whatever you like – just look for a DK weight yarn with the yarn symbol “3” on it!

Can’t wait to make these gloves. I love the chevron lace pattern. I’ve made 8 throws this summer using the Big Bold Chevron pattern. Thank you for sharing.

They are adult female size – they have a fair amount of stretch, so one size fits most. You are welcome to sell finished items. 🙂

Can’t wait to try this pattern. I can crochet with a cold body….blankies galore, but once the hands get cold I am doomed. Thank you!

I really love these mitts… love your patterns! Are you going to do a hat to go with? I only ask because I was wanting to make these and chevron lace wrap as christmas gift and have looked everywhere for a hat to match but none are quite right 🙂

Thank you so much for the pattern. I love how elegant they look!

I am wondering if I’m reading things wrong, or if there might be a mistake (I know it’s more likely I’m not understanding!) – In Round 3, just before the wide dc tog, there is an extra dc (so it looks like 3dc at the point with a ch in between each pair, then 6 dc down one slope, the extra dc I’m concerned about, then on the upswing you have 6 dc (3 reps of dc in st, dc in ch sp) and it goes right back into the dc, ch1, dc, ch1, dc all in one st. So one side gets an extra st – is that right? How does it balance out later?

It was an error! Good eye Raenne, thank you! I’ve edited the pattern to correct it – that ch 1 should’ve been a dc!

Hello I absolutely love these mitts, but unfortunately I’m having trouble with the pattern. I’ve been crocheting and taking apart for several hours now, I’m so frustrated I’m going to have to give up. ;( Maybe I’m not smart enough to follow your pattern. Do you think you could look it over and make sure it’s written correctly? I’m really sorry to ask this of you, but I really do love these mitts.
    Thanks,
    Vivian

Do you have a diagram for these? And if yes do you think you could post it? I think that would help me follow your pattern better.
    Thanks,

I’ve been working and reworking this pattern…..counting and recounting. I cannot get row 4 to end properly. I read some of the comments and see that I’m not alone and that you have corrected the pattern yet I’m not getting past row 4. Is there a correction link that I am not seeing? Please help, I love these gloves and am trying to make them for my daughters for christmas. Thanks 🙂

I love this… but I am having trouble during round 2… there’s an extra sp… do I join at the end of the FSC 40 .. then ch 4? Or ch 4 and continue? Also when I tried Rnd 3 it seems to get smaller and smaller. 🙁 I wanted to make this for xmas but I am confused… is it possible to upload a video? 🙂

I’m still having problems. I now can’t work out round 7.

*sc 2, hdc 3, dc 2, wide dc3tog, dc 2, hdc 3, sc 2,** 3 sc in next st; repeat from * to **, sc in 1st st of previous round, sl st to 1st st of round. Do you mean 2sc in next st or 1 sc in next 2 sts? and so on.

I’m sorry to be a pain but I just don’t understand the way you write your patterns. I only understand the stitches, it’s just the placement I don’t get and look forward to seeing your video.
