    A Bit About the Author

    Lori Harrison of Aklori Designs

"Lori Harrison is the Tunisian crochet designer behind Aklori Designs and author of Exploring Tunisian Crochet. Designing since 2017, she strives to create enjoyable, inclusive, and easy-to-follow garment and accessory patterns for all levels of Tunisian crochet enthusiasts. As an engineer in her day job, she designs as a way to nurture her creative side while also relaxing at the end of the day. Influenced by her engineering background, patterns are concise but comprehensive and tailored to the experience level required for the pattern. Lori lives in Tucson, Arizona with her husband, three cats, and a sassy Shiba Inu. When she doesn’t have a Tunisian crochet hook in her hand, she enjoys cooking, hiking, and nature photography. "

    • The ultimate reference: A must-have addition to every Tunisian crocheter's library, this is the most complete stitch dictionary available."

    Tunisian Crochet

I originally reviewed this book last year when it debuted in Paperback and Kindle editions. While it does include a section teaching beginners Tunisian crochet, it quickly dives into a wide variety of stitch patterns. Mine is already filled with sticky notes marking stitch patterns I’ve used and plenty more I want to try in future projects! It’s an excellent stitch dictionary, and one of my favorite resources whenever I need a little crochet inspiration and have a hankering for Tunisian!

    Tunisian Crochet

There are lots of things to note about Tunisian Crochet - here are some of the features that I think stand out:

    • divided into 6 color coded sections: Basic Stitches and Variations, Stitch Patterns, Lace Stitches, Cable Stitches, Colorwork Stitches, and Tunisian in the Round!
    • the stitch multiple for each pattern is included first thing in the description
    • each entry includes RS and WS photos, a Tunisian crochet chart (for the patterns) with key,  and minimal written instructions

    Tunisian Crochet

This is the most complete and comprehensive Tunisian stitch dictionary I own, and now they've made it even better - they've added a Spiral-Bound edition! It has the same layout, right down to the same number of pages - but now it's even easier to use!

With a spiral binding, your book lies flat while you stitch - no trying to weigh it down with notions that slip over the instructions while you try that new move. Taking your faves into the office supply store to be spiral-bound is an option, but this is a whole lot easier!
