The Twin V Stitch, aka the Twin Stitch, is a great simple pattern for blankets, bags, scarves, whatever you like! It’s super simple to do too – nothing but double crochet! Here’s how it’s done.

How to Crochet the Twin V Stitch Photo Tutorial
For both the photo and video tutorial, I used a J hook from Craftwich Creations on Etsy. In the video, the yarn is Red Heart With Love. In the photos, it’s Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice. Both are Aran weight.
The Twin V Stitch begins with any multiple of 4 plus 2, plus 2 more for the starting chain. In the following example, I’ve used a starting chain of 16.
Row 1: Ch to desired length as described above. Dc in the 5th ch from the hook (skipped sts count as dc and skip 1), dc again in the same ch, 2 dc in the next ch, skip 2 ch. *2 dc in the next ch, 2 dc in the next ch, skip 2 ch. Repeat from * until 2 ch remain. Skip 1 ch, then dc in the last ch.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first st), skip 1 st. *2 dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st, skip 2 sts. Repeat from * until 2 sts remain. Skip 1 st, then dc in the last st.
Rows 3 until done: Repeat Row 2.
And that’s all there is to the Twin V Stitch! Quick, easy to memorize, and pleasing to the eye. I hope you’ve enjoyed learning it today!

Hi
I am making a summer ladies top and it uses this stitch. It I want to decrease at beginning and end of row. It is not part of the pattern. I want to make the top towards the breast smaller.
Thanks
Tamara Kelly
Hi Marie! There are lots of ways you could decrease this stitch, but to decrease 2 sts per row, with one and each end, I would work the rows as:
First row of decreases: Ch 3 (counts as first st), skip 1 st, dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st, skip 2 sts, *2 dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st, skip 2 sts; repeat from * until 5 sts remain, 2 dc in the next st, dc in the next st, skip 1 st, then dc in the last st. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 3, skip 1 st, 2 dc in the next st, skip 2 sts, *2 dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st, skip 2 sts; repeat from * until 4 sts remain, 2 dc in the next st,skip 1 st, then dc in the last st. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 3, skip 1 st, dc in the next st, skip 2 sts, *2 dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st, skip 2 sts; repeat from * until 3 sts remain, dc in the next st, skip 1 st, then dc in the last st. Turn.
Etc etc etc.
Basically, just keep eliminating one st from each end as needed! I hope that helps.
