There are a few different methods to work corner to corner crochet with - but here I'm sharing the most common! This method uses double crochet stitches rather than half double crochet stitches, and is also known as the Diagonal Box Stitch.

Basic Written Instructions for Corner to Corner Crochet:
To Begin:
Row 1: Ch 6, skip the 3 chs closest to the hook, dc in each rem ch across; turn. (1 block made)
Row 2: Ch 6, skip the 3 chs closest to the hook, dc in each rem ch across, sl st in ch-3 sp, ch 3, 3 dc in same ch-3 sp; turn. (2 blocks made)
Row 3: Ch 6, skip the 3 chs closest to the hook, dc in each rem ch across, *sl st in ch-3 sp, ch 3, 3 dc in same ch-3 sp; rep from * across; turn. (3 blocks made)
Repeat Row 3 to desired width or length of project.
To Work Even:
First Row: Sl st each dc of last block made, *sl st in ch-3 sp, ch 3, 3 dc in same ch-3 sp; rep from * across; turn. (same number of blocks as previous row made)
Second Row: Ch 6, skip the 3 chs closest to the hook, dc in each rem ch across, *sl st in ch-3 sp, ch 3, 3 dc in same ch-3 sp; rep from * until 1 block rem, sl st in ch-3 sp; turn. (same number of blocks as previous row made)
Repeat First and Second Row to desired width or length of project.
To Decrease/Close the Rectangle:
Row 1: Sl st each dc of last block made, *sl st in ch-3 sp, ch 3, 3 dc in same ch-3 sp; rep from * until 1 block rem, sl st in ch-3 sp; turn. (one fewer blocks than previous row made)
Repeat Row 1 until only 1 block made and rectangle is complete.
