Crochet was a life saver where stress was concerned as I learned so I could deal with recovery from surgery and be productive at the same time.
Affording such lovely yarns is a challenge these days but I still teach others every chance that presents before me.
Age is no issue. I love making lovely, usefull blankets, clothing, and , decorative , pillow covers for various holidays and daily use as well.

Funny how in the years after I taught myself to crochet I've NEVER made anything from granny squares! My youngest, age 8, is learning to crochet now and one of the first things he made was a granny square. He's currently working on a blanket yarn blanket. If I win this I'll probably give it to him to use for granny squares or whatever his imagination comes up with. He would absolutely love it!

I tend to want to use them as part of something more often than only granny squares. A line down the back of a hexagon blanket, or a small bag, or those cute little fingerless mitts -- hopefully there will be some solid yarns that coordinate well with this yarn as I can't be the only person wanting to uee it this way.

The option of not having to join a new color every round will definitely make things easier. And a bonus would be that the more we can make, the more we can donate.
