    Mega Mosaic Throw

The Mega Mosaic Throw features massive stitches and a big, bold, graphic look - and works up in a weekend! This fringed lap blanket is made with jumbo yarn and a great big hook - and it's a free crochet pattern on Moogly!

    Jumbo Yarn = Mega Mosaic

The Mega Mosaic Throw is made with Bernat Blanket Extra Thick - the thickest of all the Bernat Blanket varieties! This super thick yarn requires a 25 mm hook, and it was a great chance to try out my new Furls Jumbo Resin Hook.

    Mega Mosaic Throw

Of course, jumbo yarn and a jumbo hook mean you'll make jumbo stitches! This throw is 38" wide - with only 27 stitches in each row. Bernat Blanket Extra Thick makes it faster than ever to crochet a blanket - and so cuddly too!

Why You Should Make the Mega Mosaic Throw

The Mega Mosaic Throw has so much going for it. It's bold and graphic, with giant stitches that draw the eye. The yarn itself is soft, plush, super textured, and machine washable. It's a fun way to explore overlay mosaic crochet, and it includes both written and charted instructions - as well as a basic how to video!

    Mega Mosaic Throw

And to make it even better, this pattern is completely symmetrical! So whether you are right or left-handed, you'll get the same results. The written pattern is the same, and you can follow the chart from either direction!

    Mega Mosaic Throw

Oh, and did I mention there is no weaving in ends? One of the biggest complaints about overlay mosaic crochet isn't the stitching - that's actually really easy! It's the ends. Two ends per row. So let's not weave those in - in the Mega Mosaic Throw, they are the fringe!

    Mega Mosaic Throw

This throw is super warm, like a weighted lap blanket. It's a quick project with big impact - that's a real joy to crochet!
