Have you ever felt like you were just waiting for a particular mystery yarn to exist? Red Heart It's A Wrap Rainbow just might be the yarn I've been waiting for! It's lightweight, my favorite fiber blend, and holy cow those colors - and I get to giveaway 4 cakes of it here on Moogly!
Disclaimer: This giveaway was sponsored by Red Heart Yarns.
Red Heart It's A Wrap Rainbow is 55% acrylic and 45% cotton, a "2", Fine, or Sport weight - that would be a 5 ply in the UK. Sold in "cakes," rather than balls or skeins, it also features a unique construction.

The yarn itself is made of 4 strands that are very lightly wound together - and the color changes are gradual, with each "string" or strand changing at a different time. This creates this gorgeous color shifting effect in whatever you create with it!
The strings are tied together very tightly at the color changes- you just keep crocheting past the teensy tiny knots, no problem! Only one string changes color at a time, which is what creates the gradual color change effect.
Red Heart It's A Wrap Rainbow comes in 8 colorways, each of which includes 623 yds/570 m and 5.29 oz. /150g - per cake style ball.

I've only just started playing with this yarn myself, but so far I'm loving the silky drape and gradual color shifts!

please please please please please!!!
LOL!!!
THANK YOU!!!
Stephanie says
Thanks for this giveaway. It would not allow me to pin the image on Pinterest because it said it may lead to spam.
Tamara Kelly says
Hi Stephanie! Sorry about that, you should be able to pin directly from the page. For some reason Pinterest and Rafflecopter aren't playing nice today.
Susan F. Heywood says
Still happening today. Same reason, Pinterest thinks it's spam.
Tamara Kelly says
Sorry about that - the best thing to do is to pin directly from the post rather than using the Rafflecopter button. For some reason they just aren't playing nice this week! 🙁
Tina Pierantoni says
Yup, they still aren't playing nice! I was just going to let you know about it when I read this post. That is also the way I got around the problem is the direct pin. 😉
Tamara Kelly says
Alas, I don't control either one (that would be... bad actually lol!) so for this one it looks like the work-around is the only way. If I take the option down, then all the people who did do it would lose their bonus entries, and then other's wouldn't get the opportunity... so we're just kinda stuck with this method for now. :/ Sorry it's a bit of a pain!
Kathleen Lind says
It is 10:30 CST -- I am having the same issue.
Cathy Little says
Canadians crochet too LOL
Tamara Kelly says
I would love all giveaways to be worldwide, but it's always up to the sponsor. 🙂

First I'd like to say TYSVM for another fantastic giveaway! You Rock Tamara! Secondly, I just finished a shawl using this type of yarn. It wasn't this brand but it was the same construction. I wasn't too sure about it at first but after a few rows I came to love the way it looked! Thanx for showing It's a Wrap! 😉
Tamara Kelly says
😀 Thank you so much Tina - and good luck!
Aino says
This is one of the prettiest yarns I've seen in a very long time and I'm anxious to use it to see how the colors evolve, perhaps in a shawl or scarf or a small vest.
Tamara Kelly says
I'm so excited to get to design with it! 😀
Marie Rosplock says
That yarn looks like a beautiful project in the works - to watch the color changes as I crochet along - scarves I donate for the unfortunate homeless people and newborn baby beanies which I have donated 400+ in 16 months to 2 local hospital nurseries. The mothers just love the colorful beanies I have created and I enjoy watching them "appear right before my eyes" as I work on them. Thank you for your consideration.
Gayle McCandless says
We make lapgahns for the elderly in homes!! These would really help for donating another couple of blankets!! Love the colors!!
Debi Barrett says
Love the colors. I have been looking for this type of yarn to make an lapghan.

Hi Tamara,
Thanks for this yarn review. I've entered the contest. In case I don't win and need to buy my own, how many yarn cakes of this yarn would be needed for the beach cover up you are working on? I did see it at Michael's but had no idea what to do with it until I watched your video review. Thanks for all of your patterns and helpful crochet tips. I've made several items over the last few years from your patterns. Your instructions are so helpful.
Tamara Kelly says
Hi Gigi! It takes just 2 cakes - and is one size fits all up to 68" bust. 🙂
Dorothy Johnson says
I would love to win this in nautical to make the poncho. I am a new crocheter and think I could be successful with this fabulous yarn. Thanks for the opportunity to enter and for your great patterns.
Marie Rosplock says
My daughter has asked me to make for her a "different type of shawl" - I think this yarn would accomplish that, don't you? Thanks for your consideration. It looks fascinating.
Anne-Marie says
Lovely. Now what can I make that will best highlight this yarn? Hmm, a fun thing to think about.
Darleen Freeman says
I am so looking forward to trying this new type of yarn. Have many ideas to see how it works 🙂
