It is August as I'm writing this - way too early to think about the holidays, right? Nope! There are only 20 weeks or so to go til Christmas... yikes! That means it's time for everyone who hand makes their gifts to start planning. And if you make items for pre-holiday craft fairs, then time's a wasting!
The Hanging Gift Card Holder and Luggage Tag is a great multi-purpose, easily customizable pattern - and it whips up super fast! You can slip a gift card right in there and hang it on the tree for the holidays, and then replace the gift card with your business card or personal info for a fun and easy to spot luggage tag - no waste, and useful year round.
I used bright Christmas-y shades of Red Heart Scrubby Smoothie for this pattern, but by changing the colors, you can make this appropriate for any occasion. Only 2 stitches are needed, so it's great for beginners, new crocheters, and learn to crochet classes too!

I just printed the pattern and in reading it I realize i don't know what tw sc means. It is in the assembly section. I know that sc is single crochet but what is TW?
Tamara Kelly
Hi Regina - it's listed above under "Special Stitches" and the tutorial is linked. For this pattern, it means Twisted Single Crochet. 🙂
Sherrie
Hey there, I was just curious, where do you find your scrubby smoothie yarn? I have Joann's, Micheals, and Hobby Lobby available to me for yarn but none sell the scrubby smoothie. They do sell scrubby but that's it. Do you have to order from Red Heart directly?
Tamara Kelly
Hi Sherrie! I've seen it at my local Joann's, usually in an end cap type of display. RedHeart.com might be the best option where you live though!
