I am so thrilled and honored to bring you a guest post from Corina of Stitch11! Corina has been a huge encouragement to me as a blogger, and her site, Stitch11, is always full of fun, exciting, and colorful patterns! If you aren't already, be sure to follow her on Facebook and check out her site. And here on Moogly you can get a taste of her skills, with this free Child Size Sun Hat pattern!
Last summer I created my first sun hat pattern. After posting the first one on my personal Facebook page I was flooded with crochet orders in all colors and sizes. By the end of July I had created multiple sizes of this simple, fun and adorable brimmed hat. Create this sun hat for all the ladies and princess's in your life and with some boy colors these would be great for the little men too! I am sharing the child size version here at the amazing Moogly Blog but if you need other sizes check out Stitch11's Free Sun Hat patterns!

I used 7 strands of yarn and weaved them in and out every 2 stitches
in row 12 (13 for the bigger kid size). Make sure you leave a little slack so the hat can
stretch over the child's head. I have also thought that using a ribbon would be super adorable!

This is so adorable. I make lots of hats & scarves for charity and this will be great to add to the various styles I make for them. It also looks similar to the little hats I used to make for all my little sister's dolls when we were young and I first learned to crochet. Thanks for sharing this delightful pattern.

The hat is big enough to fit me- an adult.

Ah, sorry to hear you had trouble Jessica! Sounds like you and Corina have different gauges.

I have made this hat a few times, an although it comes out larger than i expected, once you put the ribbon above the brim, it's perfect. I would prefer it to be larger than too small. Love the hat.. Thanks for sharing the pattern.
