Carolee
The front side of my blanket doesn't have as pronounced cables as the photo, is there any thing I can do to make them stand out more?
I am using Bernat Blanket Big in Cold Sea
Tamara Kelly
Hi Carolee! You might check your gauge - that's all I can really think of. I hope that helps!

Am I missing the number of skeins used?
Tamara Kelly
If you use the Extra Thick you need 3 balls, if you use Big you need 6 balls. 🙂

Thank you so much!

How many balls of yarn do we need?

How many of Bernat Blanket extra thick
Tamara Kelly
Those skeins are twice the size of Big, so I'd figure 2 Big to 1 Extra Thick! 🙂

What size crochet needle is best to make a chunky blanket
Tamara Kelly
It depends on the yarn, but this one calls for a Size U.S. U/50 (25 mm) crochet hook - it's linked above! 🙂
Janelle Bauerle
I didn’t take the class. I can’t find the print out for the pattern. Thanks
Tamara Kelly
Hi Janelle! The third link above, under "GET ALL THE LINKS HERE!" has what you need! 🙂
Brittany Lamar
I think I'm going crazy lol my directions say something completely different! Mine said to ch 110! This thing is the length of my living room! Maybe there was a typo and that's why the yarn was on sale? Wish me luck trying to fix this thing.
Tamara Kelly
Hi Brittany! I just checked, and the PDF I've linked above says to only chain 29! So I think something definitely got mixed up somewhere.
Rachel
How much bigger would I have to make it if I wanted to use it for my king size bed ?
Tamara Kelly
Hi Rachel! To make this pattern for a King sized bed, you'll want to chain 57, for 56 sts in each row. Then, work the row repeats until it is at least 100" wide. 🙂 Good luck, it sounds amazing!
Lindaey
I would like blanket to be wider than 29 stitches, how do you increase? Donyoubhave to do multiples of 2 or 3??
Tamara Kelly
Hello Lindsey! This pattern works with any number of stitches or rows - so you can just crochet to the size desired! 🙂
Jan Hanifen
For this pattern using 5 balls, does that equal a lap size blanket or bigger?
Tamara Kelly
Hi Jan! According to the written pattern linked above, the finished blanket as written ends up being Approx. 30" x 54" [76 cm x 137 cm]
Lindsey
Would this work well with bernet blanket yarn. It is not as thick but still a thi kernel yarn. Or would this yarn make it not look like a knitted blanket.
Tamara Kelly
Hi Lindsey! Yes, it would be lovely - just switch down to a 8-10mm crochet hook! 🙂
Lyra
I know I’m very late to find this post, but I am really struggling with the measurements of this? Like when I chained 29 I get it way too long to be the short side, but too short to be the long side, and my tension is write as well.
Tamara Kelly
Hi Lyra! The nice thing about this pattern is that you don't have to use a particular number of stitches for it to work. So you can really chain any amount to get the size you like - and make as many rows as you like for width. As for tension, you may want to try an even bigger hook (there are some on amazon). But before that, try making sure to pull each loop all the way through - the chenille yarn has a lot of texture, but that means the loops don't really glide, but have to be pulled. I hope that helps!
